Porsche San Diego La Jolla Tour d’Elegance participants start their day by delighting their palate with a delectable breakfast sponsored by Solace Realty as they check in at the beautifully renovated dealership of Porsche San Diego. As one of the only Porsche Exclusive Flagship Dealers in the Country, this spectacular grand showroom incites awe as it features a range of new to classic Porsches that all attendees will have ample time to explore.
The Tour will then continue to Chuck Spielman’s Only Yesterday Museum, which is home to a magnificent stable of classic autos spanning from the 1930s to the present, along with a priceless collection of military memorabilia that has been recognized by the world renowned Smithsonian Institute. Some of these artifacts include Eva Braun’s fork and spoon, a service uniform of a WWII veteran, and the original orders given for the invasion of Normandy.
The next stop of the Tour features a stunningly timeless collection of some of the most sought after classic automobiles in the world—the Calumet Collection. Two of the 20+ chic autos that Tour participants will see at the Calumet Collection include the only Phantom V State Landaulettein in the U.S. (also known as the “Queen’s Car” for its’ long history of royal possessors) and the 1923 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost featuring a bullet hole still remaining from the original owner, mobster Nucky Johnson.
After a magnificent coastal drive, a delicious BBQ lunch is held on San Diego’s only private beach at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. The lunch is highlighted by a vintage multi-plane flyover by San Diego’s most notable pilots. The Porsche San Diego Tour d’Elegance participants conclude their magical day with emcee and special guest Keith Martin, Owner/Publisher of Sports Car Market, an awards ceremony, and a special gift courtesy of Robert Talbott.
